12th fail movie Review

The film begins in a quaint village nestled within the Chambal district of Madhya Pradesh. It unfolds within the confines of a modest household, inhabited by a father, his daughter, two elder sons, an elderly mother, and a wife. Initially, the audience is introduced to Manoj Kumar Sharma, who is seen preparing to cheat during his 12th-grade examination.

A friend of Manoj Kumar Sharma’s father arrives, bearing a suspension letter from their workplace, which the father refuses to accept. When questioned by the grandmother, the friend reveals that Manoj Kumar’s father refused to sign a document given by the village’s legislator, an act deemed inappropriate. Additionally, he recounts an incident where Manoj Kumar’s father vehemently disagreed with the chairman and even resorted to slapping him with his slippers.

After pasting the suspension letter on the wall, the colleague hastily departs from Manoj Kumar Sharma’s home. The subsequent scene unfolds in a 12th-grade board examination classroom, where students have gathered for yet another attempt at passing the exam. Due to repeated failures and the school’s affiliation with the village legislator, special arrangements have been made for the students to ensure their success. The teacher writes answers on the board, and the students dutifully copy them down.

Meanwhile, an honest DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) enters the classroom and observes the cheating. He then proceeds to the principal’s office, where he catches the principal red-handed accepting a bribe. The DSP arrests the corrupt principal and secures photographic evidence of the bribery.

It is revealed that Manoj Kumar and his brother have once again failed their exams. Determined to take a stand against corruption, their father decides to fight against the system. With a heavy heart but a resolve burning within him, he bids farewell to his family, leaving them with tears in their eyes.

Manoj Kumar and his brother resort to a makeshift solution to secure some money to sustain their household. However, their troubles escalate when their makeshift transport vehicle is intercepted by the henchmen of the village legislator. Subsequently, they are apprehended by a corrupt police officer.

During a tense conversation between the corrupt policeman and Manoj Kumar, a deal is struck, resulting in Manoj Kumar’s release with the ulterior motive of obtaining his gun to eliminate the corrupt officer.

Instead of resorting to violence, Manoj Kumar employs his wit and seeks out the honest DSP. With maturity and sincerity, he recounts the entire ordeal to the DSP, who agrees to accompany him to the police station.

Upon arrival, the DSP orders the corrupt police officer to release Manoj Kumar’s brother. On their way home, as they share a ride, the DSP learns that Manoj Kumar was once a student at the school where he had intervened to stop cheating. Taking the opportunity to impart a valuable lesson, the DSP advises Manoj Kumar against cheating, emphasizing the importance of hard work, and secures a promise from him to refrain from cheating in the future.

Manoj Kumar, inspired by the DSP’s influence and aspiring to become a powerful police officer himself, leaves the village to pursue a BA degree. Upon completion, he returns home and expresses his desire to undergo PCS (Provincial Civil Services) training. His grandmother, in a gesture of support, entrusts him with her lifetime pension amount, urging him to keep it a secret.

Setting off for Alwar, Manoj’s plans take a drastic turn when he awakens on the bus to find his bag and essential belongings stolen. Shocked and disheartened, he learns from the conductor that a lady sitting beside him had taken his bag thirty minutes earlier. With his grandmother’s money gone, Manoj finds himself without funds for rent, coaching, or other necessities.

To add to his woes, he discovers that the PCS exam has been canceled for the next two years, leaving him in a state of uncertainty and despair.

Struggling to survive hunger for several days, Manoj Kumar’s desperation leads him to a restaurant one day. There, he musters the courage to ask the owner for some food, and thankfully, the owner compassionately provides him with a meal. In return, Manoj Kumar offers to work in the restaurant to repay the kindness, but the owner refuses.

Persisting with his request, Manoj Kumar’s plea catches the attention of someone nearby. To his surprise, Pritam Pandey, another PCS aspirant, steps forward, offering to cover the cost of the meal. This unexpected act of kindness from a fellow aspirant brings a ray of hope to Manoj Kumar’s difficult journey.

Feeling a sense of camaraderie with Pritam Pandey and inspired by his determination, Manoj Kumar expresses his desire to join him in Delhi to prepare for the UPSC exam. Pritam, understanding the importance of support and companionship in such endeavors, agrees to accompany Manoj to Delhi.

Together, they embark on a journey to the bustling city, ready to face the challenges and pursue their dreams of becoming either IPS or IAS officers through rigorous preparation and dedication in Mukherjee Nagar, the renowned hub for UPSC aspirants.

Moved by Gauri bhaiya’s resilience despite facing setbacks in his UPSC journey, both Manoj and Pritam seek his guidance and support. Despite Gauri bhaiya’s own struggles, he dedicates himself to motivating and helping fellow aspirants restart their lives and pursue their dreams.

Upon witnessing Gauri bhaiya’s unwavering determination even in the face of failure, Pritam decides to switch to an English coaching center to enhance his preparation strategy. However, Manoj remains loyal to Gauri bhaiya, finding inspiration and guidance in his mentorship as they continue their journey together towards the UPSC exam.

Despite facing disappointment when he fails to qualify for the UPSC prelims, Manoj remains determined and continues to juggle part-time jobs to sustain himself. Seeking to immerse himself further in the UPSC preparation environment, he takes up a job serving tea at Pritam Pandey’s coaching center.

During his time there, Manoj encounters Deepak Mohan, a recently qualified IPS officer who offers him words of encouragement and support. Deepak assures Manoj that he is always available to help whenever needed, instilling a sense of hope and motivation in Manoj to persist in his aspirations despite setbacks.
